FOR PEOPLE SQ 1 copy.jpg

For People | Week 4

Who are you for? Throughout Scripture, God’s people wrestled with this puzzling question. Our world is full of examples, news reels, memes, and blogs about who we should be against. However, Jesus actually challenges His people to love a different way. A path to reach out without compromise. A path to reconcile but not forget. A path to invest in others without neglecting your soul. This is the call to the Church in our day - to be for people again??? Join us as we begin the journey to love people like Jesus.

Passage:

Psalm 143:4 NIV One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.

1 Kings 19:19-20  NLT So Elijah went and found Elisha son of Shaphat plowing a field. There were twelve teams of oxen in the field, and Elisha was plowing with the twelfth team. Elijah went over to him and threw his cloak across his shoulders and then walked away. Elisha left the oxen standing there, ran after Elijah, and said to him, “First let me go and kiss my father and mother good-bye, and then I will go with you!” Elijah replied, “Go on back, but think about what I have done to you.”

1 Kings 19:21  NLT So Elisha returned to his oxen and slaughtered them. He used the wood from the plow to build a fire to roast their flesh. He passed around the meat to the townspeople, and they all ate. Then he went with Elijah as his assistant.
