Guatemala - Day 3

This Guatemala Missions update is brought to you by Pastor John from The Center Church!

Today was another awesome day of exploring Guatemala City, connecting with people, and seeing firsthand how God uses this ministry to serve the materially poor.

What impacted me the most was seeing how God truly works miracles and sets up divine appointments throughout each of our times serving in the community. On Tuesday and Friday, the Global Faith Network staff get up early and drive through city traffic to receive fresh produce donations that they later distribute to impoverished neighborhoods through Guatemala City.

Today, Jose (our leader on the ground) was building relationships with a local food vendor (strawberries to be precise). While sitting with there he felt the Holy Spirit prompting him to share the love of Jesus with her. A few minutes later, Jess and Noelle from our team were able to pray over her and bless her as she broke down weeping in their arms. She was facing shame, a broken engagement, and was hopeless. Jose was able to share that God literally sent our team all the way from Michigan to hug her and express the tangible love of Jesus in her life.

As I sat and watched this scene unfold from our van I was reminded of how important it is to listen to God’s voice and watch how he loves people through you. It’s what makes the Good News so good. Thanks so much for your prayers, comments, and support for our team. We feel it!

God Bless,

John
