Guatemala - Day 4
Today’s update is from Jess, the Missions Resident at Frontline.
Wowie zowie, what a day. Our morning started with a 2 hour drive to Pacaya Volcano with Pastor Shorty; pastors & leaders from churches in his network, along with the staff of Global Faith Network. Once we got there we got to hiking up the volcano - definitely challenging. We got to experience a powerful moment though when we took time to stop half way up and circle around the leaders & pastors and take a moment to pray for them and over their ministries.
Noelle got to cross something off her bucket list during this journey, and roast a marshmallow on the side of the volcano! This hike was not easy, and most of us were winded by the time we got back down, but it was so evidently marked by Christ. Something our team has noticed this week is the number of divine encounters the Lord has set up so perfectly for this exact team through the people He has put on our paths.
When we returned to the Strategic house, we unloaded the bus and then headed to clean off a concrete soccer court on the campus. Between raking, moving branches, shoveling dirt, and taking some free kicks, the court looked completely new and ready to be used. We ended our time playing a little 3v3 soccer game, subtle flex - John, David, and I were victorious. #chicharrónes
This week has been flying by, but all of us have seen the Hand of God moving so clearly through our time here. I can honestly say we have all been shaken by the testimonies & stories we have heard. The Lord is so good and His light is shining in the darkness through so many here in Zone 18. Great are You, Lord.
